Spring is Just Around the Corner
March cannot get here soon enough for me--ready for the promise of spring and warmer weather. More sunshine just brightens our days and allows us to be outside more. The joys of nature do so many things for our children. It piques their curiosity and enhances their sense of discovery. They can explore and find pleasure in the simple things. We have lost that art of just giving children time outside to see and enjoy God’s amazing world. They are so overstimulated with technology that it becomes their expectation, but it limits their world and robs them of appreciating a bud on a bush, throwing rocks in the creek, or feeling the grass underneath their feet. It is amazing how water or sand outside opens up the possibilities for play and exploration.
Being outside can also be calming to a child’s spirit-there is an indescribable connection that happens when a child spends time outdoors. And it is something they can carry with them all their life and pass on to their children.
Think like a child and open some doors so your children can love being outside and all the joys of this beautiful world.
